Bhg1 Last week some fellow bloggers & I had the opportunity to participate in a conference call with Better Homes & Gardens. We were able to get a preview of their Halloween & Fall content and got to hear about some exciting things they have happening on their site this season.

I wanted to share some of my favorite's with you. Because I know you all like to bake (you do like to bake, right?) BHG is having a Creative Halloween Dessert Photo Contest where you could win $250. They want pictures of your wackiest, creepiest, eeriest edibles! You can read all the contest rules and upload your photo's here. They are also having a Creative Thanksgiving Dessert Photo contest, click here to enter.

I love crisp cool air, sweaters, apple picking, pumpkins, changing leaves and caramel apple pie.

    I love everything about fall, it’s my favorite season! I think my most favorite part would have to be all of the pumpkin treats….pumpkin bread, cookies, coffee, pie! YUM! I also love boots, sweaters, fires in the fireplace……and the list goes on and on!

    My favorite thing about fall is that I get to reunite with Chet, my beloved 14 year old Eddie Bauer puffy vest. He also helps hide the fact that I’ve been doing lots of baking (and eating).

    How fun! We may take a shot at that dessert contest. I love watching the leaves turn color, those first fires in the fireplace, and lots of warm, hearty soup. I don’t love the rain that is suddenly here, but that’s okay.

    The way the air smells. It’s a total change. The crispness you can just feel. The leaves, the food. Fall is definitely the happiest and best season in the year.

    I love fall – I don’t even know where to start! Apples, pumpkins, sunflowers, yummy heirloom root veggies, cooking soups and stews, baking lots of yummy fall treats, wearing tights and boots and warm sweaters!!! I truly come alive and get inspired in the fall!!! My husband and I throw a fun halloween party every year where we only play records (we call it our Vinylwe’en Party) and everyone gets to be a dj – and costumes are a must of course!

    I love pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin cake, and well, pumpkin anything (except pie). I suppose I can eat it anytime of year, but it tastes better in the fall!

    I live in Northwest Ohio and I LOVE this time of the year because all the leaves on the trees start to change colors and allow for breathtaking views in the park. I also love it because it’s college football season and being able to wear sweatshirts!

    I live in AZ and there really isn’t fall here in Carefree. However, since there is supposed to be cooler weather this week, I am looking forward to my favorite fall past time of reading on my front porch. Can’t do that today because we are having a major dust storm.

    I love drives in the country in the fall. Love seeing all the beautiful colors and smelling fall I’m the air. It is especially nice if someone is burning leaves, I love that smell. My sweet tooth thinks eating caramel apples is the best!

    Everything smells or tastes like pumpkin Pie…my favorite!! The leaves changing on the mountains and valleys surrounding us are a visual reminder of the season.

    I love that you can be whoever or whatever you want to be for Halloween! Coming up with creative costume ideas is so much fun. This year, I am making my 2-year-old an Oompa Loompa costume, another of my fave things about Halloween: I get to exercise my creative sewing skills. Also, um, candy. Yeah.
    For fall, I love drinking mulled apple cider on the porch, wearing a cardigan, while we can smell that specific fall smell of fallen leaves, dirt, and wood ash from the fires people are now building. I love apple picking with my family, also pumpkin picking at the farm! The decorations you can make for fall are to die for, in some of my favorite earthy colors. There is just something so cozy, comfortable, and friendly about fall, I adore it!

    I live in Northern California, and we have a lovely Indian summer in late September and early October… I look forward to the trees changing and all things that a full apple tree can bring to the kitchen table… It also seems to be this time of year that I find myself the most productive!

    I love the crisp, cool air, dressing my kids up in costumes so that they can jet off in their imaginations to be something that exists only in their dreams and cooking up a storm with great comfort foods.

    I love cuddling around a fire with my husband in the evening hours of fall. And when this happens it’s ok that we only have sausages and marshmallows for dinner!

    I’ve been wondering how those “brains” would last inside. There’s a tree that drops them in my neighborhood. What are they anyway? fruits, nuts? I’ve been looking for a good branch for the mantle too, decorating for Halloween is always fun.
