It’s it: Birthday Edition

IMG_4751Have you ever bought something based on it's awesome packaging? I did this week. I couldn't resist this green vintage ice-cream meets it's-a-small-world packaging. And I don't even like ice cream.IMG_4754But it's a week full of birthday's, didn't you know? This little blog here turned 4 on Tuesday. 4 years I've been blogging. wow. I remember it like yesterday.IMG_4755 So a celebration was in order. It's such an interesting combination, these ice-cream sammys. I would have never thought to put mint ice-cream with oatmeal cookies- but it's so good. The dark chocolate is actually what sold me. We are die-hards when it comes to dark-chocolate. IMG_4758 

And because today is my birthday, Henry & I took the last ice-cream sandwich out to the patio and split it while Charlie & Kate were napping. IMG_4766Henry has chosen a place for us to eat tonight where I have been promised there will be no shortage of mile-high chocolate cake! Happy 4 years, and ahem,…Happy 34 years to me! (34?????)

    My memories of your birth are as fresh as the beautiful Spring morning you were born.
    It was Good Friday about 7 a.m. Giving birth at home meant being able to look out the window and take in all the beauty of the outdoors that surrounded the magical beauty of the morning.
    You were a perfect baby and now, a perfect daughter, wife and mother yourself.
    Life goes on …..

    Its Its are the BEST thing ever invented and produced in CA. Seriously. The mint is my fave, but the original vanilla is perfect too. Those puppies are expensive though, so we get a box or 2 once or twice a year at most. I want to go to a factory tour!!! I wonder if they even offer them??? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    I picked them up at my local Vons- they are a ‘new item’ there so check it out. Your hubby will love you for it : ) They also come in vanilla.

    This is late, but you just found me on FB so I just found your blog, so Happy Birthday! It’s so fun to read your blog. I know it’s been ages since we’ve seen each other or been in touch, but I remember you so well and I can really hear your voice in what you write. I’m glad to see you’re doing well.
    BTW that ice cream sandwich looks divine! My husband’s all-time favorite food is mint-chocolate anything, so I know he’d dive right into that.
