IMG_4564 We are parked here today battling a major, major case of the pukes (again.) It started @ 4 a.m yesterday with Kate. I took them on a long drive up the PCH in the afternoon thinking some fresh air  and change of scenery would be good. We drove to Oxnard, popped into our favorite thrift shop and headed home. Kate decide it was a prime opportunity to puke again. In the car. With rapid force. Then she tried to cover her mouth & hold it in, which sent it shooting everywhere.  After about 5 minutes I was at a place where I could stop. I got her out,  held my breath, and changed her clothes. We had picked up a long sleeved t-shirt for Henry at the thrift shop which he graciously allowed Kate to change in to (it was all we had.) We stopped at a car wash on the way home, bought a tree-shaped air freshener, tried to get rid of the stench, clean up, and head home.  Now the car smells like puke with a hint of vanilla. We made it through the night. Barely. Henry got it this morning. Bad. We are on our 3rd load of laundry and I've had entirely too much contact with bodily fluids. Wish us luck. We'll be watching movies & snuggling in the rest of the day.  (and maybe I'll have some time to get those lampshades recovered this weekend.)

Do you mind sharing what paint type and color you used on the wall? I painted our family room blue a month ago and I’m not sure of the color.

For a quick second I thought you had to recover the lampshades because they had barf on them. Then I realized that it was just because you wanted to! 🙂

My dad loves to tell the story of when I threw up in the car during the summer……we had to sell the car.

Ok, I hate to ask, especially with all of your little ones sick…but your couch is lovely! I have never seen a brown couch that I actually liked, and I would love to have one for hiding dirt from having kiddos. So if you have a spare second and remember where you got it, I would love to know! Hope you all feel better soon!

I love this picture. Everyone looks so serious 🙂 I had an explosive puke episode in the car about a year ago and it was horrifying. I hope to never experience that again. Awful. I had to drive with my head out the window.

    Hi Jenn-
The couch is/was from Pottery Barn. I bought it 10+ years ago when I worked there. It was the floor model then (and I think it has since been discontinued) but I believe the model was “COLE”
    Good luck!
(we are totally ready for a new couch- this one is HAMMERED!)

Hi Morgan. I love your blog but rarely click through to comment. Would you mind sharing where you like to thrift in Oxnard? I work in Oxnard and have wondered about the thrifting there . . .

    Hi Mary Beth-
I like the Mission Thrift Store- it’s just north of the train/metrolink station. I think this is the address: 125 South Harrison Avenue. I’ve had a lot of good luck for kids clothes (esp. for Kate who is around size 2)
    Good luck!
Oh and I’ve found a few great Banana Republic Shirts for Chris.
