I decided to grab the camera today and document our happenings. Today was a busy one; we had lots to do. It started out with a trip to Target for paper towels, a curtain rod & eyeliner and a quick "look" at some toys:
I'm not sure what prompted the super hero cape today. He hasn't worn it in ages, but he wanted to wear it so there you go. It was lunchtime by the time we left and our bellies were rumbling (well, mostly mine.) We stopped for chips & salsa, tacos, tamales & rice.
We ate in the car and drove back downtown to the fabric/fashion district:
Mom needed some fabric and I, well, I think the fabric I got for the curtains aren't working. I really love that brown/white & green get-up (second over from the right) and the yellow print up on top. It was too crazy with 3 children to actually focus long enough to make a decision on which fabric to get, so I skipped it all and didn't get anything. Maybe another day when I don't have all the kids. It was 4:30 and we were parched.
A frosty beverage was in order. Delish. We headed home to try out the new bubble machine Grandma got (they had only been asking for it since the second we left Target.) It claims to blow about a thousand bubbles in the blink of an eye. 
From there it was straight into the bath (which I would have normally skipped had Kate not rubbed her hands on the car tires & then directly all over her face.)
I watched them in the bath while sitting on our bed folding 4 loads of laundry. I was tired. I made a call to Chris to pick up Chinese on his way home. I put the kids in their jammies and we waited for Pops to come home. We ate and then put the kids down. I'm pooped and going to bed. I think tomorrow we'll stay home and maybe venture out to the park. Or not.

WOW…the fabric district looks awesome! Bummer your other fabric didn’t work…maybe it’d be better for pillows?? That’s what I’d do with it. How do you choose a fabric with so many great ones?!

oh gosh, you are one ambitious mama! can i just say that picture of all that fabric makes me achy. where i am in VT the only fabric choices are black landscaping, burlap landscaping or plastic sheeting 😉 i browse online all the time but it’s not the same and the fabric i order is rarely what it seemed.

Oh, that fabric makes me homesick for the fabric district in LA. We just moved to MA recently. Not such a great selection of fabric shops nearby. Will you share the name of that one in the photo? I’m sure to make a trip down there when we visit this summer.

Andrea- are you talking about the store or the fabric? This shop is only one of about 100 in the fabric district- most of them carry old inventory so they can sell them for cheap (about $6 yard for the ones in the photo)The one I bought a few weeks ago and linked to is “Chris Stone” I believe he is a local LA designer. The shop pictured above had a lot of Chris Stone fabrics but they were from 2005, etc.,.
And by the way, I’d move to MA in a heartbeat. Like tomorrow if I could. But the #1 thing I would miss is the fabric district!LikeLike

I cannot BELIEVE you dare to try all that with three kids. I have pretty much been in hibernation since baby #4 came along – I NEVER go anywhere with all of them without the husband. I would lose my mind. Hats off to you. And I love the fabric shot. 🙂

Hey my Mom was there so you know, that’s kind of like having Chris there, right? Charlie was in the sling and Kate was strapped in the stroller (she’s the one I’ve got to worry about) and Henry was on the wheelboard on the stroller. Makes me tired just thinking about it!

Although it is not the LA fabric distric….Winmill fabrics in downtown Boston is fun! I still have a bunch of fun fabric from there. Try it out if you get downtown.

I am pretty sure it’s Chris Stone, but it’s a past collection- I think 2005 or 2006. It’s so cool, isn’t it? and for around $6 a yard (I think it’s 60″ wide) you can’t beat it!

I’d give my right arm for a fabric distict! (Ok, maybe not my right, but most certainly my left!!) When can I visit??? 🙂

I remember those days. Now I have a girl in HS, MS and EM, and I’m in the car all the time – driving to different practices and games, wishing they were little again – ha! Every age has its good and bad 🙂

Yes, there are many things great about living in MA. We’re on Cape Cod. Of course, the locals here give me a puzzled look when I tell them we moved from Los Angeles to here. I often get “why would you move here?!” Anyway, I was actually asking about the store name in the above photo. I always go to Michael Levines, but I don’t know which of all the other millions of shops are worth a visit, so I usually don’t even try them. I seem to enter the ones filled with polyester and quickly depart. Another thing I miss are good, big thrift stores. I have outfitted my 2 girls mostly in thrift store finds for the past few years. There are a few tiny ones in the area here, but not nearly the selection you find in LA.

That is Titos!!! I LOVE LOVE that place! Living in Colorado without it is really tough. I crave it constantly. We’ll be visiting CA in a few weeks, and it is the first stop we make after arriving at LAX!
