IMG_3646 Henry in his Christmas get-up

Hiya! I had every intention of blogging last week, but gosh darn it, it was so hectic and crazy. Chris had a shoot and was filming all day Christmas eve and Christmas day (lame.) Charlie got thrush (awesome.) I got the Christmas gift of mastitis, or so I thought (now thinking it's somehow tied to the thrush.) I didn't finish any of my handmade goodies for Kate and finally had to just set it aside and let it go for a few weeks. Sigh. What a week!

Anyway, we opened our gifts and I received my annual Christmas visit from "The Creep." The Creep is circa 1993 and a little cartoon invention of Chris'. He 'creeps' into any and all gifts given by Chris. He's called "The Creep" because he says and does creepy things.IMG_3636You get the point. IMG_3637Presents are never just wrapped, they are always made into something else to disguise their true identity. They are appendaged, if you will. My gifts from Aveda were made into binoculars. What appeared (from the wrapping) to be a book with a big bump on top was really this: IMG_3641 After all the craziness that was last week, we decided to pack up the children and get out of town.

Snow: it was just what Henry wanted for Christmas.IMG_3667
We are having a ball.

Happy belated Christmas!

Hey there–the breast pain absolutely is related to the thrush, and you and Henry BOTH need treatment, or you’ll keep passing it back and forth (and it can be stubborn and ongoing). There are options: the conventional route via an MD (often Diflucan), or homeopathic/natural solutions like gentian violet. You can Google it–but your best bet is to go to the La Leche League website for more detail, or call a local LLL Leader.
Yes, I am a retired Leader…we never stop caring for breastfeeding mamas.

Speaking from experience – if Henry has thrush and you are breastfeeding – then WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! You have thrush as well… ugh! Both my kiddos and I went through it… it is a pain and HARD to get rid of so be REALLY diligent!
I LOVE all the fun you guys have with your gift giving! I think it makes it that much more fun!
And yay for snow! I live in VT so we always have a white christmas…. Couldn’t imagine it any other way.

I think Chris’ Tiffany box cake, hollowed out to house an actual Tiffany’s box with a trinket for you inside still takes the cake! (Look at that great pun!) I was duly impressed with his creativity. Sorry about the thrush! Hope you’re feeling better!

Actually finding the idea of “the Creep” amusing. Also presents with appendages? That’s awesome!

Chris is so funny! The Creep…I’ll have to remember that!
Love his choice of gift, btw. I am loving that M.Buble CD, and that Barfoot Contessa book as a killer italian wedding soup recipe. It will change my outlook on meatballs forever!
    Have a wonderful new year!

LOL! As I am reading your post a Nerf dart just whizzed past my head from the same blaster 🙂
Oh, I/we had thrush with my first. Gentian Violet did the trick but it get on everything and gives a new meaning to purple-nurple 😉 Oddly, Dr. Bronner’s castille soap does get it out. Hang in there. It is really uncomfortable.
Those gifts are hilarious, btw! Or I guess I should say the wrapping, the gifts are awesome 😉

One: The first picture is exactly what my son looked like on Christmas morning, Dinosaur pj’s and a clone trooper head! Love little boys.
Two: I always thought my Dad’s habit of wrapping all of my Mom’s gifts in computer parts boxes was funny (he literally saves boxes from all of his computery stuff all year just to put her gifts in!), but I really like the Creep idea!
Three: Hope you and the baby are on the mend soon!
