IMG_3324 Hospital bag packed? Nope. Co-sleeper set up? Nah. Baby clothes washed? Fughettabout it. Car seat installed? um…No. I decided at 9:00 last night to start a quilt for the baby. With less than a week until my due-date I'm feeling like I should only be required to do things that fall into the 'fun' category. IMG_3325 I'm not really sure what I'm doing here but  baby quilts are small and I'm confident that I'll have this thing finished in no time at all. I may not have a hospital bag packed, but I will have a cute baby blanket. That's all that really matters. Hospital bag, schmospital bag.

Gorgeous! I’m so jealous. I wouldn’t even know where to start. I have the whole top of a quilt that my Grandma started for my daughter. The week we were supposed to go pick out fabric for the border and back, she passed away unexpectedly. Any ideas?
I can’t wait to see your new gorgeous baby. Your kids are adorable.

Love it! What is a good husband for if it isn’t for rushing to throw stuff together as you dash to the hospital? You are great at quilts. I’m with you, you will be done before you know it! I am so excited for your new arrival. I have my fingers crossed that your delivery will be a breeze! Hang in there…and for sure….only “fun” from here on out.

You and I….we’re speaking the same language.
Plus I promised myself, I’m not setting the co-sleeper up this time around (I should be excused from that ridiculous contraption which I love when it is set up, just not the process of getting there). John is…..so more time for crafting…Right?!?!!

Great quilt! I have a little more time to go than you and I am working on scrapbooking projects and feeling like I want to learn to knit. And heck the hubby can always run home after all is said and done. All I have to have to give birth is me!

I have three weeks to go (although any sooner would be absolutely fine!) and I am still trying to get all the “not fun” loose ends tied up. However, once that’s over with, I am going to also begin a couple of art/craft/pleasurable projects I’ve had on my mind. Even if it means having my sketchbook in the hospital bed with me!

I did the EXACT same thing about a week before my Lucy came. I finished it, but the dear was a a week late, so I was still bored! 🙂

The hospital bag is so over rated, the hospitals here have everything that you need until it’s time to go home. I have heard in other places that you have to bring a lot of stuff because the hospitals just don’t have it. Even if the hospital gowns are uncomfortable and ugly at least they have them. I’m so excited for you and the end of pregnancy being soon. I’m so jealous that you will get to hold your little one soon. I absolutely love the first couple of weeks, after bringing a baby home. Good luck with the delivery! The quilt looks really good, you have a knack for that kind of stuff.

I love searching quilts on flickr for great inspiration. Also just google “quilt binding” or try you tube- there is a ton of instructional stuff there. Good luck!

Eeeek! The last time I made a baby quilt I ended up going into labor within 24 hours. (Only mine was a 35 weeks. You’re safe.) Morgs, I can’t WAIT to meet the newest little Moore. And the quilt is oh so perfect.

Sara- I totally set up the co-sleeper yesterday and it’s a good thing I did- we are missing a critical part! Chris was like, “Why’d you already set up the co-sleeper?” I’m like, “really?Because this baby could be here any second!”

My list of to-makes is so long- it should last me through Christmas 🙂 Is it bad that I’m thinking of packing a few projects for the hospital? LOL? Wouldn’t that be funny if I wheeled my sewing machine in? LOL!

Remember all those years ago, you needed to borrow my sewing machine? Remember is was the most basic aweful beginer sewing machine on the planet? Well, what kind of machine did you end up getting?
I’ve been given the green light to get a new one, one that will last me quite some time. I’m debating on a Janome or a Baby Lock…but I still don’t know exactly what to get. Let me know what you think of your machine!

haha 🙂 I like the way you think! Who wants to do the boring stuff to get ready for baby, bring on the crafting! I remember taking my knitting to the hospital for my last baby, only to realize that I couldn’t knit with an I.V. in my wrist…wish I’d brought a book, it was a long wait. Good luck!

I laughed out when I read your post! When you’re at your third baby you know there is really nothing you need. It’s the sugar coating that makes it extra special and the quilt you are making looks adorable 🙂
You guys can install that car seat lickity split now anyhow…enjoy! I am so excited for you guys!

Its different the third time around. By now you know that the world won’t end if you have to send the husband home for the carseat.
