It's a perfectly rainy pre-Valentines day. We had a morning trip to Target for a humidifier (coughing kids), box of legos (kicking myself for not ebaying them- have you seen the cost for a blasted box of legos?) and new booster seat which resulted in lots of "This is AWESOME!!! Thank you TARGET! Let's call everyone we know in Utah!"
I taught a little class this week on how to make truffles. I know, I know, the amount of sugar going in & out of this house…. But, in keeping with a childhood promise to my parents that I would let my kids have candy every. single. day.' (we grew up on carob) I'm pretty much obligated. At one point there were 18lbs of truffle goo in the fridge. I actually didn't make any the night of the class, so thought I would use up the last 1 1/2 lbs. I mean they were just sitting there. Staring at me every time I opened the fridge.
White paper is milk chocolate, brown is for dark. I am all about 2 ingredient deserts. It just doesn't get any easier than that. Plus they look like they take mad skills, but in all reality a monkey could do it.

Love it, I think we all made that promise our parents!:) I felt so deprived that we didn’t have pretty candy dishes sitting on the tables full of candy! I also told my mom that I wouldn’t make my kids be in by ten p.m. oops broke that promise.

So.
Let’s just relive that charming little story …
Picture a beautiful little 4-yr. old Morgan standing in the bathroom having her silky brown hair brushed for Church.
Make that a mighty grumpy-pants beautiful little Morgan. The little Morgan who does. not. want. to. go. to. church.
“when I grow up, I’m not going to church and I’m giving my kids chocolate every day!!”
“Great!” I reply, so completely NOT impressed, “but today you’re going to church and you’re not having chocolate. Get your dress on missy”.
(You may note, I’m popping caramel-filled Treaures as I write this.)
Seems we both got over ourselves.
Ain’t Motherhood great?!?
Love you, babe. If you love me, you’ll send me some of those dark chocolate truffles.LikeLike

Hilarious! Your mom’s comment is so cute, what a pair you are! Don’t feel too bad about the price of legos, they seem really expensive on eBay too…you’re best bet is to go garage saling!

Just an FYI – we got the sunbeam walgreens (midnight) humidifier and I am not saying that my husband didn’t fill it and left it on all night but – um it broke.. and I am not saying that my husband didn’t fill it and left it on all night so I took it back and they replaced it NO QUESTIONS ASKED because it had the walgreens name on it. Just an FYI if you change your mind on the target one.
P.S. Check your local Craigslist for lego’s I got some little ones and some duplo ones for super cheep!!!LikeLike

i love that you are giving your kids candy daily to spite your parents! we consume way too much sugar around here, but i like to think that the whole grains and fresh fruits help offset that.:)
did i miss your recipe?LikeLike

Another amazingly beautiful food photography post (still can’t believe you only have a powershot, confirming that true photographers don’t need to have fancy cameras to take awesome photos!) These look delicious!
