Kate was born 7 days before Henry's 3rd birthday.  Naturally it was low key. Today was his 1/2 birthday and we decided to make up for the lack of celebration 6 months ago. The day was shaping up to be a good one, until this morning. We were walking out of a store to our car (which was parked 10 feet from the door) when an oncoming bicyclist whizzing by plowed right into Henry, which landed us here:

All is well, he is okay. Such a little trooper. We told him we'd take him to his favorite restaurant (El Cholo) which seemed to instantly help and raise his spirits. We stopped at a local bakery for some late night delights to top off our day:

for (2) mini-bundts. Did you know that November is National Bundt Month? I speak the truth. You've got 10 days to get your bundt on.

Whenever we go to the market, Henry 'ooh's an ahhh's' everytime we pass the #3 candle on the baking aisle. He just wanted that candle so bad.  I made a special trip tonight for that candle and we all enjoyed a little birthday singing and bundt cake before bed:

Happy 1/2 birthday. I'm sorry you got creamed by an oncoming bicyclist.

On the agenda for the weekend: Turkey shirts for the kids, just in time for the holidays.

Poor Henry! Was it a hit and run? I’m sure it’s harder to be anonymous on a bike. Glad he’s OK and got his 3 and his bundt.

Wow a bicyclist, that is crazy. It is better than a car. Did you have a close encounter with a car a few months ago? Happy 1/2 birthday Henry!

Happy 1/2 birthday Henry. We always celebrated my 1/2 birthday when I was in school, so I could bring cookies for the class, since school hadn’t yet started by the 1st of September. Yum Bunt Cake!
So you’ll have to hook me up with Turkey Shirts (or onesie) for the boys. Let me know what supplies are needed!
Can’t wait to see you guys!

No! As a cyclist, I am horrified. Though, as a mountain biker, I’m more afraid of threading a squirrel through my spokes or getting hit by a deer. Let me apologize profusely for that guy. (Must be a guy; we ladies would gladly brake hard enough to catapult ourselves over the handlebars for a Henry.) He’s not afraid of bicycles now, is he?

poor little henry. i’m glad he got his 1/2 birthday anyway. tell henry that el cholo is one of my favorite restaurants, too. he’s got great taste.
i’m so jealous that you have your tree up and decorated. my husband protested and put his foot down when i suggested that last weekend was the perfect time to put up our tree. sigh.
i love the turkey shirts, too. (sorry i’m commenting on three posts in one comment. bad blogging protocol, i know.
