Henry had been wanting to be a "blue ghost with white eyes" for a long time, but upon realizing that would entail something going over his head, he quickly changed his mind. So instead, he decided to be a:
Pumpkin prop was Henry's idea. And Kate, well, I had planned all along that Kate would be an acorn, but when Henry saw the lamb costume on the same pattern as his pumpkin, there was no turning back.

The night fluctuated between this and this:
A bucket on the head can work miracles.
And one of the biggest hits of the night? Our Halloween Pumpkin toss:

They look so cute. The lamb costume is especially adorable. Isn’t it amazing what the kids can get in their minds. One year my daughter wanted to be a black cat with blue hair.

Yeah…my kids had homemade costumes last year. That went out the window this year with the addition of child #3 and with #4 on the way, sapping all of my energy. Thank heaven for nice hand-me-down costumes from their cousins! Your costumes look great – your kids are adorable, really.

I love little Kate in the lamb costume, especially when Henry is squeezing her. Priceless.

Cute costumes! I am very impressed with the lamb. I tried making a very simple round pillow with that kind of fabric and it was horrible. So good job with using it for the lamb and not chucking it out the window before it was done.
