It really is my absolute most favorite time of year. I love October. I can't believe we are already 1/2 way through it. I was just scrolling through last years October posts. I didn't get any Halloween decorations up this year but I have promised Henry that when we get home we'll put some up. It's turned into a bit of a tradition to have some friends over for a night of "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" along with chili and donuts and cider so we will try to squeeze that in when we return. My aunt made a cake today which tasted just like a gigantic cinnamon roll which I have every intention of re-creating and sharing here on the blog so stay tuned for that.
I loaded up the kidlets on Saturday along with my sister (whom my brother so graciously flew down to LA so I didn't have to make the drive alone) and headed to Utah for the next 10 days. The drive went much smoother than anticipated aside from the dead battery we had in hell, a.k.a. Baker, CA and even that was fixed in no time at all. We are here and BRRRR it's COLD! Good gravy. Should've brought the parka (I don't actually have a parka.) Henry is sick, which is on par with every previous trip we have made here and to keep things exciting, Kate is teething.
The Nie Nie Benefit Sale: is wrapping up. I loaded the last 75 things (plus the 200 postcards) in the car and am shipping them out this week. Thank you for being patient. I know it's taking a long time. I am a one man show, actually I am probably less than that if you factor in the kids and a hubby who works a minimum of 14 hours a day. Just know I am trying my best. I've received all your e-mails wondering, rightfully so, where your stuff is. It's taking a lot longer but bear with me, I'm hoping to have everything out by weeks end. For those of you who donated, check out the feedback as well and you can read about the rave reviews everyone is giving the donations.
I have been getting a few much needed laughs in, and you should too so check out these recent brilliant SNL skits: here and here.
Happy October!
