Every Sunday it's the same story: I have nothing to wear. The closet, in mere seconds, looks as if it were hit by a tornado. I tear it apart hoping that magically a long lost skirt has made it's way in there. No such luck. It's not a matter of fit (well, naturally I'm not into my pre-pregnancy clothes so those are totally off limits anyway), but hello who knew it was harder than h-e-double-hockey-sticks to find a long skirt? I mean seriously, when did they stop manufacturing them? I can't find them anywhere. Every Saturday I search high and low and always come home empty handed. I am in no position to be wearing short skirts and I can assure you the general public is in no position to see me in short skirts. So last Saturday, I took matters into my own hands and made my own. I wanted something long, almost to the floor, lightweight and full/flowey-ish. I went with a pale green & white stripped seersucker. Probaly not the best for a skirt, but it got the job done and I'm happy with it. It's not quite as full as I want, but I bought 3 other fabrics to make additional skirts with this week, so we'll see how those go. Oh and the flowers were a very quick and last minute addition. An embelishment, if you will.

And these, these little buggers are seriously prohibiting any future post-baby weight loss. I made them last week for a BBQ and thought I'd share. Chris loves peanut butter & chocolate. Be warned, I can assure you there is zero nutritional content in these bad boys (okay maybe a little from the peanut butter :)

Peanut Butter Bars
1 c. butter
1 c peanut butter
2 c graham cracker crumbs
2 c powdered sugar

1 1/2 c semi-sweet choco chips
4 Tbsp peanut butter

Directions: Melt butter & 1 c peanut butter. Add graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar. Mix until well blended. Press into ungreased 9"x 13" pan. Melt choco chips with 4 Tbsp peanut butter (either on stovetop or microwave) and spread on top of graham cracker mixture. Refridgerate for at least 1 hour.

I wish I could have you all over for some peanut butter bars. You have been so generous and kind and nice to me and your sweet comments mean so much. I feel like everytime someone comments it's like an old friend knocking on the front door, stopping in for a quick hello. So thank you. Thanks for stopping in, dear friends.

xoxo

These bars are my kids’ favorites! I only make them during the holidays cuz they’re so rich, and absolutely irresistible! My favorite college Home Ec professor shared her recipe with us & I’ve shared it with all who’ve asked. The only difference in our recipes is that mine does not include melting the peanut butter, or adding 4T pb to the chocolate. I’m going to try it your way the next time I make them & see which recipe I prefer. Thanks for sharing! ;D

I tried a similar recipe using more pnut butter in the base and used sweetened condensed milk and a package of semi-sweet choc chips for the topping. They turned out really good, but thick. They almost remind me of peanut butter cups. I am going to try your recipe using the smaller amount of ingredients. Your recipe sounds better.

It wouldn’t have a good texture- the crumbs really add a lot!

You can use any cookie crumbs. I used to live in Central Asia and couldn’t get graham crumbs, so I substituted a shortbread cookie crumbs. Worked beautifully.

I just made these today and I added a little twist that all of you chocolate lovers must try! I melted Nutella into the chocolate chips and peanut butter and all I can say right now is WOW! Nutella gives it a great kick!
