I can’t believe we’re halfway through Summer. My in-laws were in town this last week and we’ve had fun spending time with them. Trips to Thriftys for rainbow sherbet, definitely a highlight for the smaller Moore in the house (and the big ones, too.)
IMG_0944We spent a full day in Griffith park, there is so much to do there. We had never done the carousel so that was a must. It’s quite old and there is the most incredible organ. We had a ball. Grandma rode the horses in the equestrian park and the boys spent some quality time in travel town (I’m quite certain Henry has inherited his love of trains from his Grandpa) and then it was off to the observatory:IMG_0988

They just recently opened up the observatory after being closed for a few years for a $100 million+ renovation.

We went to the beach on Saturday and I stopped by this fruit stand (which are everywhere here in LA) for some fruit to take with us. It’s a wonderful combination of jicima, watermelon, mango, cucumber and cantalope, They squeeze fresh lime juice on the fruit along with the optional sprinkle of salt and cayenne (I think) pepper. The salty paired with the sweet and a little spicy is so delicious. It’s a very generous serving of fruit for $5. You can’t beat it. The corner of National & Sepulveda, it’s where you’ll find me on Saturdays.

Here’s a great “Summer Is” flickr group. Hope you are enjoying your Summer!

xoxo

I love LA. I would love to come visit again. I’ve been twice, both times were wonderful. People look at me weird when I say that I love LA. I know you wouldn’t.

I love that Henry’s little finger nails have some dirt underneath them. That is a sign of a successful summer day to me. Sticky face from ice cream, messy hair, sun kissed cheeks and dirt under the finger nails. Henry is a lucky boy
Hey, I keep meaning to ask you about the G diapers. How is that coming along? Richard and I are considering the switch.

California’s tourism board needs to pay you for your posts. Every single one makes me depressed I don’t live in LA. Can’t you post some pictures of traffic once in a while? Awesome pictures, as usual. I’m counting on you to plan our itinerary when we’re in town in October!

I remember riding my bike to Thrifty’s for a rainbow sherbet ice cream cone. Thrifty’s was right next to Long’s and if we had time I could go in there and spend my baby sitting money. I loved growing up in California. Lucky Henry and Kate.

    Kimberly –
Have Morgan post about me getting a $140 parking ticket in LA last November.
You read it right, girlfriend …..
Yep, that was $140 for a PARKING TICKET.
You wonder why there’s so much traffic in LA?
    …. everyone’s afraid to park.

I LOVE Thrifty’s ice cream!! It has the winning combo: delicious and cheap! My mom used to take me there if I ran 3 or more errands with her. It was always a good motivating factor.
It was so great to see you yesterday and have a few minutes to chat. Thanks again for the swimming diapers. They will definitely be put to use in this hot weather!
