Img_0108I was walking by the mirror yesterday and caught a side view of the growing belly. Wow. There are no words. That’s 38 1/2 weeks pregnant for ya’ all.  Henry calls the ‘lines’ on my belly railroad tracks and his trains take a trip there at least once a day.  I’m really starting to feel it people. I won’t get on the complaining train because I  know I’ll never get off, I’m just sayin’. It’s getting really uncomfortable and dare I say, this Mama is getting to be a bit of a grumpy pants. Normal daily things are just getting so hard to do which is the most frustrating part of it all. Although the one downfall to having said baby is that I will no longer be able to refer to my girth as ‘my delicate condition’ although whose kidding who, it hasn’t gotten me any special privileges anyway.
Img_0066 I did make some very small progress in our bedroom and was able to check a few things off my ‘to-do’ list. The black and white framed photo’s have been sitting on the floor since we moved in, um, 6 months ago. It was just one of those annoying things that had been nagging at me- one of those things that I can assure you, I won’t want to do after having a baby. So I sucked it up, got out the hammer and nails and did some damage. Some of the frames are empty  or have pictures that I want to exchange with new baby ones, but I thought if I could at least get them up, that’s half the battle right? I’ve still got a few more that I want to add to the left side of the wall,  so maybe I’ll be brave and do that this weekend. But I did get the co-sleeper up. All by myself thankyouverymuch. And let me tell you, it took all bloody day. I’d try it for a few minutes, it wouldn’t work, cursing was involved followed by leaving the room. That happened about 10 times throughout the day. But I did it myself. It only took 10 hours. That’s gotta count for something.

Bedrooms are tough. I always feel like it’s the one room in our home that gets the most neglect. You want it to be all cozy and warm and I feel like I’m always about 2 steps behind. What kind of stuff do you ‘accessorize’ a bedroom with? It’s still pretty bare bones in there. There isn’t anything on any of the other walls, which is quite noticeable since it’s a pretty good sized room. I was debating painting, but so do not have time for that right now. And you know what? We need a bigger bed. I’m just going to throw that out into the universe.  With Henry wanting to come into bed with us more & more (I think he’s realizing that life as he knows it is about to come to a screeching halt) and a new baby who will probably split time in the co-sleeper and in our bed, we desperately need to move to a king. It just would make for a better nights sleep for all involved. I love our bed, though. I lusted after it for years and finally 3 years later bought it. I would be so sad to ever part with it.  It pains me to even type the words. Maybe someone could ‘borrow’ it from us for a few years or something. I gotta keep the options open.

Happy weekend!

xoxo

That is so funny that you mention needing a bigger bed. This morning when I woke up that’s the exact thing I told Marc . . . “We need a bigger bed!” Heck Morgan – I say live it up, buy the Cal king!!

You’ve come farther along in your bedroom then we have in almost 3 years with ours. But your motivation. About the bed size. Ya I’d go bigger to except for the amazing wood bed my dad made for us that everything else is matched to. With Jon, Myself, Evan and my growing belly the queen bed is feeling small. I know how you feel. At least we kicked Charlie out when Evan was born, now it’s Evan’s turn to discover his own bed, but how oh how are we going to do that.

What a beautiful belly! Our bedroom is also neglected so I have no advice. I love the picture wall.

your “undecorated” bedroom kicks butt over mine. we still have furniture that we took as hand-me-downs from someone’s KIDS; the bed is just a mattress, box spring, and frame. i have really been wanting to do my room, even if i can only afford to paint the furniture, put in some window treatments, and give the walls some color and treatment. and that’s after spending four years in this house.
the photo wall looks great. i can’t believe that baby moore is entering the world so soon. hope you’re getting closer on a name.

We went to a king size bed after our second was born and I love it. I also didn’t want to part with our bed, but it is loaned out to my mother-in-law for now. The king size bed is the only way to get some sleep if your kids like join in! Hang in there!

Your room looks great. Way to go!
Unfortunately, we can’t see the fabulous bedside stands we got at Salvation Army in Boston.
We can, however, see that belly!! You look beautiful, sweetheart. Beau.ti.ful.
Can’t wait to be there with you.
(But when I come, I’ll sleep in my own bed, thank you very much.)

That cosleeper bed looks like the little car bed my parents had. Of course now I think of a bed in the back seat of a car with horror it probalbly was what people did in the 50’s. Like a lot of other scary things.
You look lovely.. but yeah, just about done!

You can make anything you touch look lovely and appealing. You are so lucky to have such an over abundance of spacial intelligence. I have almost none and admire that quality so much. You look cute as a button and ready to pop! Do you know what your having or are you waiting to find out? Keep powering through that final things to do list!

    First, you look gorgeous.
Second, your bedroom looks gorgeous. I have been wanting to do something similar on a wall after we move, and you’ve given me the perfect inspiration for it.
We moved up to a king after #2 arrived and I’ll never go back. Jason complains that he can’t find me in the middle of the night. I love him but I prefer it that way. Plus all 4 of us can snuggle in the bed in the morning without getting crowded.
I start complaining about 3 weeks into my pregnancies, so in my book, you are a hero. Call me if you need end-of-pregnancy sympathy…

Like many others (which I’m glad to hear) our bedroom is close to junk room status. The few boxes that haven’t been unpacked are up there and no pictures are hung. It’s not as if we go up there for anything besides at night. When I think about the mess or lack of style it’s as I’m yawning and getting ready to hit the hay. Maybe someday we’ll hire some design star to redo our room. HGTV here we come! Ha!

Lover-ly picture wall, absolutely lover-ly! Congrats on getting it done.
Tip from me to you – go for the king. We moved to a king approx. 10 years ago and never regretted it. Even now, when “we” has become just “me” I still love the king. My almost six year old still sleeps with me and it’s nice to not have to sleep right up against the burning furnance she becomes during the night. Some weekend mornings the teenager still crawls in with us for a lazy chat. King-size beds rock!
Your belly is beautiful and you have every right to complain (not that it ever gets us anything). 😉
Cheers to you and good luck with the delivery.

Morgan you have such a cute prego belly! You have the cute basketball belly, I had the large size beach ball belly. Good luck with the delivery and I totally understand what you are going through, since it has just been 8 weeks since I delivered. The last month is the worst but there really aren’t many things that are better than having a new baby.

Ya, so I’m 38 1/2 weeks as well and about to go out of my mind!!! The grumpy thing: my poor husband just sits there dumbfounded and repeats as a mantra “you’ve got to get that baby out of you before you kill us all”. Uncomfortable? ya, I feel ya, didn’t know a head could be that low and not come out huh? Hugs, my preggo friend, hugs!

You look awesome. Seriously. Sometimes I look at newborns and think, “They’re so tiny!” but at the same time I look at them and think, “Wow, all that fit in there?!” It’s amazing what your body can accommodate, and you look lovely!
I love the picture arrangement on your wall. But I have no idea how you have survived in a queen bed. Maybe it’s just because Brian is 6’4″ (and a bit of a bed-hog, too!) but we went straight for the Cal-King, and I even think that’s too small for us, sometimes. (And Libby never sleeps with us! I guess we’re just restless sleepers!!) I have no idea about decorating, but I do know there’s nothing like a huge, comfortable bed to make you love your bedroom.

Hey Morgan- you look great, and I’m glad it’s you not me! I love your bed too, is it from Ikea? because there’s one like that I’ve been loving forever at Ikea but I can’t get it because my husband is tall and can’t have a footboard- darn tall husband! I think your bedroom is really pretty and bedrooms should be simple anyway. Oh, and even though I love your bed, we’ve had a king for a couple of years and it is nice, esp with a baby in your bed!

you asked about name ideas a few posts ago, and since we quite nearly picked Henry for our son, I thought I’d throw out our two girls’ names since they seem to match the “fannie” aesthetic (without being fannie, since it’s not quite me). Josephine (Josie) is our first, Adelaide Jane (Addie, Laidey, or Daisy often enough) is the third. (the boy wound up being a Jasper, after my great grandfather).
Best of luck to you…moving from one to two is difficult but just remind yourself that you are truly giving your older child the gift of a sibling. I often feared that I was taking away from Josie, but seeing them together now (5 and 2)–the way they so truly love each other and play so well, I wouldn’t trade all the trouble they cause 🙂
