Img_8103Well, I am pleased to say that it all came together (in more ways then one. Mu-ha-ha!) It was all so very last minute, but thanks to my Mother-in-law, who let us borrow some quilting frames and a bunch of quilting gear, we were able to make a quilt. Together. It was so great.  I picked out some Amy Butler fabrics about 2 hours before the shower, ran home, washed it, mom cut it and sewed it together, while Megan & I got the food ready and voila, it was ready to be put together & tied. As part of the gear my MIL let us borrow, there was this awesome sheet that had all these holes already cut out (new to me, the amateur quilter) which made it so much easier and made for no pre-tying marking or any of that mumbo-jumbo.

Anyway, the ends still need to be finished, but I think the future Mr. & Mrs. Zinke are going to get lots of cozy cuddle time under this quilt in the cold Vermont winters. The big wedding is 4 days away. WOW. We are all so happy around these parts.

Thanks for all the great quilt advice and for the e-mails. You guys are always so helpful!

xoxo

Your sister is moving to Vermont??!!! Yay! That’s our terf! Is her husband-to-be from there, or what is moving them there? BTW, the quilt is gorgeous (wouldn’t have expected anything less) and I’m a little awestruck and jealous of the craftiness in your bloodline.

Looks lovely! Congrats on this fantastic gift! You think you were cutting it close? A lady came into the quilt store yesterday. She had just come from the wedding and was on the way to the reception and had decided she wanted to make a signature quilt…

Wow, what was that sheet? I’ve never seen that before, was it paper of cloth?
    Looks cute!

Love the simplicity of that quilt. And that fabric is gorgeous. Still need to get some of that line.
I have got to make one of those sheets. I just started quilting. Well, made some tops but not finished anything for the fear of messing up the quilting. I love this technique-something I could handle. And the idea of making that sheet first is brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, what’s the deal with that sheet? Do you place it on top? I’m so very curious, as it looks so very handy!

Hey, is your sister’s fiance related to Dana Zinke (Wettengel)? Not too common of a last name, is it? The quilt looks awesome. Well done!
