IMG_0660Just wanted to pop in to say hi and I am still here. Our wonderful friends who let us house sit while they spent the Summer in Belgium returned and so we packed up our things and headed to our new place. 99% of our belongings are in a storage unit in Southern California still but we are hopeful we'll get them in the next few weeks. Until then, we are making it work as best as we can. But I cannot lie. I miss my sewing machine and all my cooking stuff. I just want to make…..something! Anything!IMG_0665I knew that my kids were city kids but it didn't fully hit me until we moved out to this sleepy New England town an hour west of Boston. They've never had a bug bite. Do they even have mosquitos in LA? I think at last count Henry had 27 bites. All 3 were bitten by wasps this week, too. And all 3 screamed bloody murder running to me with tears streaming down their faces. It sent this Mama straight to google: "homemade wasp sting remedies for kids." We went with the baking soda paste and it seemed to work out alright. They aren't used to being outside by themselves. I keep telling them to go out and play and they say "but who will watch over us??" I tell them, "You can't even see the neighbors, they live so far away! You'll be fine!" It's taking time but they are adjusting. It was time for us to get out LA and we felt so right about coming here (despite a LOT of 'are you crazy??') IMG_0663I'm also in the midst of launching my own Kickstarter campaign that has been months in the making. We filmed the video 2 months ago just days before we moved. Anyway, it's a cooking show- a web-series hosted by yours truely. It's something I've always wanted to do and I'll need your help getting the word out & funding the project. We are just working out a few kinks with the graphic designer & editor and we should be a go next week. You'll be the first to know.

Pictures are from a day trip we took to NYC yesterday (yes, there & back in 1 day!) Kids fell in love and wanted to drive back the next day. Chris was there for an interview. We spent the entire day in Central Park at all our favorite places. Kate fell in love with the Alice in Wonderland sculpture and Henry was thrilled he just happened to be wearing his Beatles shirt for his "IMAGINE" photo.

We've got just under 2 weeks of Summer left before school starts for Henry. Apparently his old school didn't get the memo that we were leaving and have emailed me the past two days that he was either tardy or late to class. I'm sure it wouldn't have been the first of many emails/calls had we stuck around!

Oh one thing, I do have all my vintage sheets with me  so quilt kits are back in the shop. I got probably enough for 8 kits or so.

Be back soon with Kickstarter info!
