One afternoon a few weeks ago we decided to load up the children and go for a drive. Our drives usually take us on the 1 North (a.k.a. The PCH) Just past the Malibu Pier is a little place called the Adamson House.
The Adamson House is amazing. It's situated on 13 acres overlooking Surfrider Beach. The house is a national historic site and a California Historic Landmark. We stopped in on a Monday (they were closed) but the grounds were open and so we walked around.
There was a brief time in the twenties where there was an influx of Malibu Potteries that manufactured tile, the most comprehensive of which is here at the Adamson House. Below is an outdoor bath tub where they used to bathe the dogs.
Just east of the main house, is a small guest house with a pool that overlooks Surfrider Beach: The view from the pool of the surfers:

It's gorgeous here. Definitely stop in if you are ever on the PCH.
Enjoy your weekend (be sure to get outside and explore your surroundings!)
