because we were here. We spent the day in Santa Monica at the beach. The weather was perfect, we got sand in our pants, relaxed,  ran around, threw sand at each other, buried Henry, all the beach day essentials. Luckily, both kids love the beach especially running their legs and toes through the sand. I'd like to call this the beginnings of a sand angel:IMG_0992

Yes, most definitely a sand angel.

It was so fun to read all the entries for the contest. Who knew there were so many new and expecting mamas? Congratulations to all of you!  The random number generator has chosen commenter Allie as the winner of the Keiki Kover!

I blogged about your giveaway here

Thanks!

Thank you so much! Your daughter and her bathing suit are amazingly cute–I love that suit, especially the back of it! Adorable!

I agree with Allie, your baby in her swimsuit is the cutest thing! The ruffles in the back topped of with a bow are killing me!
These pictures make me miss living near the beach in San Clemente. We live in New Mexico now where there is plenty of sand but no ocean…

It’s redundant, but I too was thinking, “That a-dorable baby swim suit is killing me!” What sweet, sweet pictures.

If I thought I could get away with a ruffled rick rack butt and people would say oh, how cute is she, I would do it! Glad you had good time! ~Kelly

For those who were wondering- Kate’s swimsuit is from Gymboree. I originally spotted it a few months back at the Gymboree outlet- I think it’s from last season (’08) try ebay- I believe the line is called “Holland Days”

I am so jealous that it is warm enough there for the beach and swimming suits. Here it is winter, snow on the ground and everything.

Thanks for the heads-up (and discount!) on the Keiki Kovers! I have been comparison shopping for nursing shawls for awhile, since I’m pregnant with #2 and didn’t have one (but always needed one) with #1! This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for, but couldn’t find! Thanks again!

    Hi Morgan-
I have a question for you. I am attempting to make appliqued onesies but had a lot of trouble with sewing around the edge of it. I was attempting to do a satin type stitch to totally cover the raw edge, but it was really hard to do and the onesie fabric kept not moving so it would bunch up, and the curves were hard too. So anyway, it looks horrible! I was looking back at some of your etsy pics and it looks like for you appliques you just do a regular straight stitch just inside the edge, but then how do you not have the edge look so raw? Since you’ve done this so much I thought I would ask you for a tip, if you have any. I thought it would be such an easy project but I guess not for me! Any info you have time to share would be appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Elisabeth
