Post Apartment living means you have to walk across the street to the little blue mailbox anytime you want to mail a letter or package. I think those were some lunch sack on their way to some peeps. Speaking of, the shop will be going on maternity leave in about 3 weeks (the 28th of April) and will be closed until sometime in June, so if there’s anything you want, be sure to get your orders in before then. And the quilt. Eigh-yei-yei. Thank goodness for seam rippers. The white is coming off. It was just making me gag every time I looked at it. I picked up a green which I am loving. More on that later.

4 weeks people. 28 days. Good goo. We are getting down to the wire. Time to start washing clothes, getting the co-sleeper and carseat out of storage, um…think of a name.  Things are so different this time around. With Henry, we just were counting down the days. From the beginning, we charted his daily growth on-line:  "His buds have begun to form into arms!!!" "The baby is growing hair, toenails AND fingernails???" It just seemed to go by soo slow. We were overly prepared. Hospital bags were packed early, checklists had been checked and re-checked. All the pregnancy  books had been read.  Everything was washed in dreft and purell was plentiful. There were multiple "going home outfits" to choose from. The stroller was set up, sheets cleaned. We didn’t forget anything. School

Then we just waited and waited (I was overdue.) Things are so different now, as I imagine they are for everyone who has already had a baby. This time, the time has flown by. We are feeling unprepared in more ways than one. I’m kind of panicking that it’s coming up so soon. Since the baby will be co-sleeping there is no nursery to decorate (okay no nursery period. That’s 2 bedroom apartment living for you) but Henry’s room needs desperate attention. And I know I said I wasn’t going to but I think I may try to eek out a baby quilt for the stroller. Unlike my pregnancy with Henry, I haven’t written in a journal once for this baby. I really regret that. Life just tends to get so crazy and hectic. I think about it a lot and just haven’t done it. I took my journal with me to hospital when Henry was born and just love reading back on all those first moments of his life. I guess it’s not too late to do that.

This time around, it’s not just about us, but a lot about Henry, too. His glorious ‘all your attention is focused on me’ world is about to change. He’s going to be getting a sister and we’ve been trying to gently prepare him for that. I’m sure we will have our rough spots. It’s tough for  little person to now have to share you, but so many blessings and good times will come with this sweet new soul joining our family. He keeps saying, "She’s gonna be so cute" followed by giving my belly it’s daily zurbert (which he thinks is soo funny.) Henry
He sits on my lap and asks me, "Can you have 2 buddies?" "Of course, of course. You two will be my best buddies!" I reassure him.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about it all. But it will all work out and it will come together, won’t it? It just has to. I’m sure the first few months will be a complete fuzzy blur. But we are excited. Looking forward to being in jammies all day, nursing and just being a new little family of 4.

Ivy_3     I’m just going to throw this out there. Feel like suggesting any
names? We are really struggling here. Here’s some help. I really like
turn of the century classic names (but not boring, everyday names.)
Types of names I like: Olive, Fannie (I could never do this but think
it’s so adorable!) Annie, Tatum, we love Nora (Betsey & Richard you
are genius!). So can I ask beg
for your help?? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated and maybe
just maybe, I’ll send out a little something to the person with the
most brilliant name suggestion!

Thanks so much, Dustin for all the great photo’s. We just love and adore you (oh yeah, and my sister’s not so bad herself!)

Happy Wednesday!

xoxo

I really enjoy your blog. I am currently one handed typing with my 10 week old baby Charlotte Louise. That’s my suggestion and maybe ask Henry for his opinion on the final list. My 3.5 year old really enjoyed the name game!

De-lurking as well =) I still love my daughter’s name, Ellie Adair (Adair after my husband’s aunt). It fits her perfectly, I just love seeing it on name tags!! Good luck, I’ll be waiting for pictures! And if for some reason it turns out to be a boy (hey I’m just sayin’), we have a Finn.

I love older style names , I have a Scarlette Rose, Celeste Grace, Summer MAye , and a Rosemary Avalon. I love Everette and Wesley for boys as well. Good luck, picking the name is the most special but also the hardest part of your pregnancy

You know India is an old English name. We also like Naomi… my other grandmother’s name. According to the Chinese ring trick, we’re having a girl next… whenever that is. Not sure if we could ever use Naomi, though. Too much bad blood between my parents. We might be able to sneak it in…

    I’ve always liked the following:
    Stephanie Elise
Katrina Michelle (or Katerina can’t decide)
    Lillian Grace
    Laura Elizabth
Although with “Moore” and “Henry” I think I like Lillian Grace Moore. It has a lovely ring to my ears.
You look amazing and, as usual, your photos are gorgeous! I’m so glad to see that your pregnancy has gone so well. BTW, Henry is such a loving child that I think he will take his little sister under his wing and surprise you. Will there be some vying for your attention, of course, but I think it’s going to be minimal with Henry. He’s so darling.

Hey you! I love the belly! It makes me want to get prego again! I really, really like Olive. I really love Cora, Wynona (which I LOVE) and Rhea. Im sure you will pick something so cute and so her. Nate love the name Elle. Im not sold on it. I was reading some of the above names and Iris and Hazel are super cute too. Oh choices!! If I want to stick with the “s” theme after Sofia, then I would totally go with Scarlett. I think I am going to add all these to my list!!

Love your blog and wanted to add my two cents in about names. I don’t have any children yet, but I love thinking about my future children’s names! These are a few I love:
    Nova, which means butterfly chaser
    Clementine, which means merciful
Elise, a fresh take on Alice or Elizabeth
and any “flower” names like Daisy, Poppy, Violet, Delphine or Lila/Lily
looking forward to hearing what you name her!

Don’t beat yourself up about the journal writing or lack there of. Luckily, you have shared some of your pregnancy with us, your blog readers, and that’s something. You could always print out your posts regarding the baby and that might jog your memory or inspire you to write more. I did the same thing with my first and sadly did not with my second. It’s just the way it goes sometimes. : )

My vote is for Amelia. I have an Amelia Anne myself. We call her Mimi, but I love that she can be an Amelia when she is a big girl and Mimi as a little girl. She is 3 months now and we have considered Henry for a boy if baby brother comes along eventually. Louisa Davis if a sister comes along. Above all, enjoy every, single, moment of the birth…I can’t wait for number 2. The name will just hit you when it is right.
Best of luck and what a beautiful family you have!
