Well, we’ve officially been invited to take part in Root beer Fest ’07. This is what we have to contribute: Bulldog, Hansen’s (is sarsaparilla even a root beer? I blame Chris), Dad’s & Berghoff’s. Our friends birthday is tonight and he didn’t want a "birthday party" so instead, we are having a root beer tasting. From what I understand, scorecards will be involved. I am scared. I’m no root beer connoisseur. Maybe I should start drinking now….

Img_4705 My brother came into town on Wednesday and we are having a ball. Henry absolutely adores him and I’m sure that Matt’s enormous contributions to Henry’s ever growing Thomas the Train collection has absolutely nothing to do with it. We took Chris to work this morning and Matt couldn’t resist hopping out of the car for a pose on Ryan Seacrest’s parking spot. We are laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Oh Ryan Seacrest. Oh you. I did see him on Tuesday after the shows taping getting into his black Bentley. Mr. Jackson was there, too. But in a black Benz. Why am I sharing this? I don’t know. I never watched American Idol before this season and even then, I’m no AI die hard. But if I have to see Sanjaya one more time, I might just…….

Things here are good & busy. We are going to a Dodger game tomorrow (Matt’s got to get in as many as he can) and I’m shipping out the last of the orders from Etsy, which let me say a huge THANK YOU for all your support last weekend on the pin-cushions. It was so fun to see them sell out. Those of you who got them, you won’t be disappointed!  I won’t have more for a while,  but I am working on some other fun things that will be in the shop next Friday.

My birthday is on Monday and I think we’re going to The Tree Show. I was dropping Chris off one morning at work and drove right by the Michael Kohn Gallery and decided right then & there it’s where I wanted to go. I’m very excited and so happy to support local artists (and all you non-local artists, too!) I love art gallerys. In fact, when I found out that we were pregnant I broke the news to Chris at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Very much looking forward to it.

Have a happy weekend! Here’s some Scissor Sisters to get your weekend going! There’s just no words  for the skin-tight purple ensemble. You’ll love it. I promise.

xoxo

You made my day! I couldn’t workout today so I am a little grouchy…tapering for an event on Monday. I love that song and I didn’t know the artist….the Scissor Sisters, now I am in the know. Thanks for the laugh. A

So, we have a great local root beer. It would be too late for the party but I’ll send you some if you want. I think you can send root beer, can’t you?

I have to say, if I saw Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson, I’d tell everyone I know. How fun! I’m a total American Idol fan. I’ve done root beer taste tests before and they are a lot of fun, it’s surprising how different they all taste next to each other, you think you like a brand, but then you taste it next to another and it tastes like pepto-bismol. Anyway have fun, and happy birthday on Monday!

What a great idea for a birthday party! I love root beer, you should also try IBC…it’s great for the price. The scissor sisters are hilarious…why are they called sisters when they’re boys?

Love the Boston MFA. It’s the first museum we ever took our daughter. It was a Mary Cassat exhibit and she was around 3 years old. I was kind of worried how she would behave, but she loved it.
They have this great program for kids where they pick up a little pack that has colored pencils, paper and a guide to a certain section of the museum. Then they go to it and look for different works in that section. My daughter’s favorites are the Egyptian wing (very, very cool) and the one with the painting of Edward Boit’s daughters by John Singer Sargent. They even have the vases that were in that painting. My daughter was extremely impressed with that.
Have fun with your brother and enjoy the game, and if we don’t see you post again, have a great birthday!

WHAT?! A rootbeer fest with no Henry Wienhards? I think that may be some form of blasphemy! LOL Not really. In fact, I’m not even a big RB fan myself…I go for the hard stuff: Diet Coke. 😉 But my husband, he might take you on. You’ll have to come over when we get the good stuff on tap. 😀
Can’t wait to see your new products. You are a class act, Morgan. And I’m still HOPING you’ll have more cushions soon. Happy early birthday!! Have a wonderful day celebrating YOU!
    Love and hugs~

I never was a big fan of root beer until I tasted natural ones. Virgil’s Root Beer is very good.
I think Sarsparilla is true root beer, made from the roots of sassafras. I could just be making that up, I find sometimes I just sort of create facts, truly believing I read them somewhere.

I didn’t think I could like that song more, but the purple outfit made me love it even more. Wonder if Jason would dress up as the lead singer for Halloween?
I only drink Root Beer when it’s poured over a glass of vanilla ice cream. Maybe if it stops raining and actually warms up, I’ll have to get some. Fun idea for a party! Oh, and I didn’t know you told Chris you were pregnant at the MFA! How fun.
It’s going to be the coldest, wettest Boston Marathon in the time we’ve lived here. I wouldn’t want to be running tomorrow! Wish we were at a Dodgers game instead, especially wish we were there to help you celebrate your big day!!

A root beer tasting sounds like great fun! Last summer our teen-age son and his friend decided to learn to make root beer from scratch. What an adventure! One nearly exploded — another was completely flat — and some even turned out good enough to drink!
    Happy Tasting!

Wow! Love the Scissor Sisters thing! Hilarious! Mike and I have been trying to think of things to motivate us to lose our law-school-is-stressful weight, and I’m thinking if I offer to get him that purple number, he’ll be motivated for sure! We miss having you out here, especially now that we live closer to Boston!

I have to agree with Kim: Henry Weinhards is a must! I buy it by the case for my husband, every Father’s day. Yummy!
